MO Bar Approved 18.0 hours and 2.2 ethics hours of CLE KS CDRE Approved - Primary 18 Hours, Ethics 2 Hours Program topics include: conflict theory; negotiation theory; communications theory; theories and styles of mediation; mediation process from initial meeting to agreement writing; practical skills, strategies, and techniques for working with conflict and breaking impasse; mediator ethics; balancing power; financial issues; differences between business, civil, and family disputes. This will be an interactive class that combines didactic presentations, active input from the participants, and role-play opportunities. Taken as a whole (Core & Domestic) this training is a basic 40-hour mediation training that will meet the qualifications for MO Supreme Court Rules 17 and 88, KS Supreme Court Rule 914 as well as the minimum training required by most court-connected and state-sponsored mediation programs.
